Three Local Walla Walla Martial Arts Schools Team Up for Haiti Fund Raiser

Three local Walla Walla Martial Arts schools teamed up Sunday January 31, to raise funds for relief efforts in Haiti.

A free seminar was held with everyone who wished donating money to  be sent to the American Red Cross and another charity, in all $500 dollars was raised.

Members of The Walla Walla Academy of Martial Arts, Beginners Mind Dojo, and The Little Dojo enjoyed a 3 hour work shop commemorating the life and art of the late Maestro Sonny Umpad who Bruce Lee’s First Student Jesse Glover likened to Bruce Lee for skill and speed.  Many members then joined for Thai Food and discussion for further fund raising efforts.

How was it coordinated?  Blackberrys, iPhones and the internet provided communication between all the participating schools and members, and the platform for researching the final choice of recipients of the funds.
